Every shoot begins by bringing the team together -- getting connected to each other, the intention behind what we're making, and the story we're here to tell.
I'm Sami
PHOTOGRAPHER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
I've spent nearly seven years working with personal brands — first as a designer and strategist, and increasingly, as the person behind the camera.
And over that time, I've learned that making something pretty is only half the job. I've watched industry after industry become more saturated...and the imagery within them become more and more identical. So I'd rather take the extra time to get curious, ask better questions, and push the idea further. That's the work I truly forkin' love.
And while we're making the strange, memorable, holy-shit-we-actually-made-that images, I'm thinking about usefulness, too. We create variety intentionally, so you leave with a library that doesn't just look good — it has somewhere to go.
Photography is the work I feel extraordinarily lucky to get to do. And I know that being on the other side of my camera is often something you've spent months — sometimes years!!! — dreaming about, building, becoming, or finally getting ready to share.
So yes, I take making your photos very seriously. I just don't think we have to be thaaat serious while we make them.
